Jade Pearl - Permeance; The Art of Embracing the Moment
Artist and Creative Art Director Jade Pearl tells us about her work, Permeance; The Art of Embracing the Moment and how she found inspiration in the fleeting beauty of flowers.
Permanence: The Art of Embracing the Moment
There’s something special about being gifted flowers. It’s more than just the act of receiving—it’s the energy behind it, the thought, the intention. When I was given Freddie’s Flowers, I didn’t just see a bouquet. I saw colour, emotion, and movement. I felt something shift, a pull to create.
The truth is, I wasn’t in the best place when I received them. I felt stuck, uninspired, caught in a slump I couldn’t shake. But when I held those flowers in my hands, something inside me softened. It was like a quiet reminder from the universe to pause, to breathe, to allow beauty back in.
Flowers are fleeting, but the way they make us feel lasts. They hold stories, symbolism, and a kind of quiet power. I knew I wanted to capture that—not just their beauty, but the essence of them, the way they made me feel in that moment. That’s where Permanence was born.
Healing Through Colour, Creating Through Feeling
Still life, for me, is never just about painting what’s in front of me. It’s about embodying the moment—letting the colours, the shapes, the energy of what I’m seeing move through me. It’s an act of presence, of deep connection, of transformation.
The palette felt intuitive. Blush pinks and magentas—soft yet powerful, feminine yet bold, speaking to self-love, passion, and inner strength. Deep greens—grounding, expansive, a reminder of growth, of stillness, of nature’s ability to hold and support. Every colour carried something deeper, an emotion, a feeling, a piece of the story.
As I painted, it became a form of meditation. A way to channel emotion, to translate energy into something tangible. It wasn’t about perfecting every petal; it was about the experience—being fully in it, the cathartic expression, letting the colours unfold, allowing the process to guide me rather than trying to control it.
I realised that in painting these flowers, I wasn’t just capturing their essence—I was embodying my own transformation. The energy I felt when I received them, the shift they sparked, the way they pulled me out of my own head and into creation… that was the real magic.
The Gift of Giving & Receiving
There’s something beautiful about the cycle of giving and receiving. Flowers, much like art, are a gift of presence. They ask us to slow down, to appreciate, to take in beauty for what it is—without needing to hold onto it.
This piece, Permanence, is my way of honouring that. A reminder that even in the fleeting, there’s something lasting. That beauty isn’t just in what stays, but in what moves us.
This is what Jade Pearl is about—art as healing, as embodiment, as transformation. It’s about allowing ourselves to feel deeply, to create from that space, and to recognise that even the most fleeting moments can leave a permanent mark.
That’s the power of presence. That’s Permanence.
